This notice says what GameJar stores today, and why.

What we store

A random guest id, so we can tell your games apart.
A generated display name. You can change it on the Me page.
The avatar you choose.
Your settings, such as sound.
Results of finished online games and finished friend games: the game, the result, a record of the moves, and the time.

We store these so the same guest can come back, and so the Me page can show those results.

The one cookie

GameJar uses one cookie, named gj_token. It keeps you as the same guest player. The site needs it to work. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies.

On this device

Games against the computer, and the stats for those games, stay in this browser. They are not sent to GameJar with your profile.

IP address

We use the IP address only to limit how fast someone can send requests. We do not store it with your profile.

What we do not collect

No account, no email address, and no phone number. Chat is preset lines only. There is no free-text chat. There are no ads. We do not sell data.

Children

GameJar is free to play and uses no real money. We keep data minimal. We do not use tracking or targeted ads for children.

Ask us to delete your data

Email <YOUR-EMAIL> and ask us to delete your guest. Tell us the display name on your Me page so we can find the right guest.
